Unlock Gallery options Complete one of the following goals to unlock the corresponding Gallery: Gallery 1 to 10 Complete puzzle mode levels 1 through 10. Lock Movies, Bosses, and Survival Pictures 1 and 2 At the main menu or character selection screen, hold Select + Start. The game will return to the main menu. Everything except academy mode rewards will be locked again in cerebo mode. Play as Toad Complete arcade mode once with any character to unlock Toad. Movie costumes At the character selection screen, press Square when selecting your fighter to fight in their costume from the live-action X-Men movie. Historical comic pictures Complete arcade mode with all characters in their regular costume to unlock their historical comic picture in cerebro mode. Character comic pictures Complete ten rounds with any character in their regular costume in survival mode to unlock their comic picture in cerebro mode. Character movie pictures Complete twenty rounds with any character in their movie costume in survival mode to unlock their movie pictures in cerebro mode. Character intro FMV sequence Complete arcade mode with any character to unlock their intro FMV sequence in cerebro mode. Bonus costumes Graduate the Academy with straight A's with any character to unlock their third costume. Press Circle to select the third costume. Cheat mode At the title screen, press Select, Down, R2, L1, R1, L2. All features, including alternate costumes, outro FMV sequences, behind the scenes movie pictures, the Pool Party, and Psylocke, Juggernaut, Spider-Man, and Professor X will be unlocked. To use Spider-Man, highlight Cyclops and hold L1 at the character selection screen. To use Professor X, highlight Magneto and hold L1 at the character selection screen. Play as Psylocke Successfully complete the game with Wolverine in arcade mode to unlock Psylocke. Play as Juggernaut Successfully complete the game using all default characters and Psylocke in arcade mode to unlock Juggernaut. Play as Professor Xavier Successfully complete the game with Juggernaut. Then, highlight Magneto and hold L1 at the character selection screen. Play as Spider-Man Fight in arcade mode until you face Spider-Man. Defeat him and finish arcade mode. Then, highlight Cyclops and hold L1 at the character selection screen. Arcade mode At the main menu, quickly press Triangle(2), Right, Circle, L1 or Circle(2), Right, Triangle, L1 to enable the EX Option. Use that option to set "Original Mode". Then, choose versus mode and have player one select both of his or her characters. Player two should then select the same two characters in the opposite order that player one used. Now start a game and press HP to switch teammates. The EX Option menu may also be used to keep the power meter full. Note: For the Japanese version of the game, at the main menu, quickly press Square(2), Right, X, L1 to activate the code. Play as Gouki At the character selection screen, highlight Magneto, Juggernaut, Dhalsim, or Vega and press Up. Keep those buttons held and highlight the "VS play" option by pressing Down + Start. Then, choose any two fighters and watch the CPU take over both. Area select Accumulate 30 hours of game play. Then the announcer will say "Wow" after this occurs. Begin a game in two player versus mode with Zulu and Xtal. Win a round with a lap time of less than five seconds with both of them. You will then be able to choose your area of battle when playing in versus mode. Flat-shaded turbo mode Accumulate at least one hundred hours of game play, during which you must have performed a five hit combo. Then, enter the option menu and highlight "Match Point 3". Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Down. Now a new "Shadow Obj" option will appear on the screen. Enable this option to allow the PlayStation to have more processing time for action at the cost of graphics. Repeat the code to return to normal mode. Hidden comics Beat the game in easy mode without continuing or losing a round. Then, go to the title screen and highlight the option icon. Now on controller 2, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Start + Select. A comic strip featuring Neco will now be displayed. Alternate colors At the character selection screen, press Up when choosing a fighter. Color select Once you beat the game, you will be allowed to choose from among sixteen different color schemes for the character selected.
